Joseph Eugene "Joe" Tory

Joseph "Joe" Eugene Tory, 59, of Bayard, IA, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Mercy One Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church in Carroll with President Matthew Skinner officiating.
The family will greet friends Saturday morning from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.

Joseph was born March 9, 1966 in Waterloo, IA, and was the son of Paul Beatrice (Banes) Tory. He grew up in Fayette, IA, and graduated from the Fayette High School with the Class of 1984. He furthered his education at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls on a golf scholarship and later received his degree in Business Administration at Upper Iowa University in Fayette. On April 18, 1998 he was united in marriage to Vicki Fox in Cedar Rapids, IA. They were blessed with three children, Jared, Charlotte, and Zedekiah. Joe worked various places throughout the years. They lived in Parkersburg until 2008 and then moved to the Winterset area. In 2021, Joe moved to Bayard and the couple later divorced and he was united in marriage to Caroline Abbas on July 4, 2022 in Bayard. He was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a handyman at heart and enjoyed fixing anything that was broken. In his spare-time, Joe loved to ride motorcycles and woodworking when time allowed.
Joseph is survived by his wife Caroline Tory of Bayard, IA; children: Jared (Abbie) Tory of Desoto, IA, Charlotte (Ethan) Nova of Urbandale, IA, Zedekiah Tory of Denison, IA, and Cody Tiefel of Wichita, KS; granddaughter, Ashe Tiefel of Wichita, KS.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents.
