Joseph G Vasile of Port Charlotte, Florida went home to be with God and his relatives on May 28th, 2022.
He was born on March 20th, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York, to Thomas and Marie Vasile. He was a fighter from day one!! Born premature he was not even expected to live, he came home and slept in a shoebox in the top drawer.
He was always proud to tell that story as well as many, many more wonderful stories of survival! He was one of 4 siblings; he is survived by his baby brother Charlie. Tommy and Barbara, his elder, have already been called to heaven.
Joe was a very proud retired FDNY firefighter for over 20 years, he saved many lives in and out of his career. He was always there to lend a helping hand, a caring word, or a beautiful story to anyone in need. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his lovely wife of 35 years, Rita, or KC as he dearly called her, with whom he shared a beautiful love story across 2 continents, united 2 families, 2 languages and so much love. They have 4 children; Joey, Jill, Cristiano, and Camila, and Joe's pride and joy were his grandchildren, who all loved and admired Pop Pop.
His memory will be forever cherished by his immediate family along with his in-laws, nephews and nieces, and friends.
Joe will always be remembered for his kind heart, his positive outlook on life and his big smile. He loved to dance, spend time with his family, travel, relax at the ranch in Brazil and his family's land in upstate New York and watch his grandkids grow up.
His family loves him and will MISS him dearly every day of their lives but they know he will be watching over them from the BIG FIREHOUSE IN THE SKY!
At this time, the family asks that any donations or flowers are sent to Rita Vasile at 635 West Tarpon Boulevard NW, Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
