Mr. Joseph "Cigar Joe" Whitehead

Mr. Joseph Whitehead was born on September 7, 1947, to Sarah Frances Whitehead and A. C. Johnson in Atlanta, Georgia. "Cigar Joe" as he was called by his family and friends received his formal education in the Henry County School System in McDonough, Georgia.

Joseph accepted Christ as his Savior at an early and was united with Mt. Moriah Baptist Church under the leadership of pastor Milton S. Goggins.

Mr. Joseph Whitehead met the love of his life Ms. Sandra McCord and was united in holy matrimony in Griffin, Georgia.

Joseph was employed by Spear and Spear Funeral Home for 15 years. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing, grilling, working in the yard and having a good time with his family and friends.

On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, our Heavenly Father called Mr. Joseph "Cigar Joe" Whitehead home, where he will forever dwell in God's presence. Joseph is now set free from all sickness and pain. Rest now in peace and comfort, your journey has ended, battle fought, and victory won. He was preceded in death by his parent, Sarah Frances Whitehead and A. C. Johnson, and bonus son, Tracey Dodson.

Mr. Joseph "Cigar Joe" Whitehead leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Sandra McCord, two daughters, Ann Haugabrooks, and Patsy Haugabrooks, his sister, Elizabeth Hann, his grandchildren that he loved dearly, Kendarius Watts, Elycia Carr, Elyana Carr, Kina Haugabrooks, Melane Haugabrooks, Jeremy Haugabrooks, and Tyrese Haugabrooks, and bonus son, Michael McCord. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will cherish his memories forever.
