Joe was born November 27, 1950 to Joseph and Theresa Rose (Klosowski) Winnicki. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Winnicki; and a son, David Winnicki.
Left to cherish the memory of Joe is his loving wife, Sally; mother, Theresa Rose Winnicki; children, Brian (Alicia) Winnicki, Lynn (Scott Douglas) Winnicki-Douglas; step-children, Jamie (Shane Giles) Kowalski, Christopher (Michelle) Kowalski, Lance (Katie Widup) Kowalski, Brian (Mallory) Kowalski; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Lisota; brother, John (Nancy) Winnicki; and nephew, Mark Lisota.
Joe honorably served his country in the United States Navy for 27 years. He was mostly stationed on the east coast as an air traffic controller, and then went into recruiting where he finished his career. Joe was a member of the American Legion Post #1 in Bermuda, American Legion Post 357 in South Bend, and Lakeville Conservation Club. He enjoyed fishing, shooting, and traveling. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his loving family, especially his grandchildren. He loved his many furry babies! Joe never forgot to bring candy for his grandchildren, and treats in his pocket for his furry grand dogs!
The family would like to thank all the staff at Memorial Hospital and Majestic Care for their caring and concern for Joe and his family.
Visitation for Joe will be 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM Saturday, May 7, 2022 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Funeral Service to begin at 10:30 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
