MORTON – Joseph J. “Joe” Zuke, 92, of Morton, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024, at The Loft Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Eureka.
He was born on February 23, 1931, in Girard, Ohio, to Ernest and Victoria (Costarella) Zuke. Joseph married Delores Vodilko on June 25, 1955, in Girard, Ohio.
Surviving are his wife, Delores Zuke of Morton; daughters, Christine (Michael) Magarity of Mackinaw, Charlene King of Morton and Anna Marie Zuke of Pekin; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Joe was preceded in death by a grandson, Tony Baum and brother, John Zuke.
He was a United States Navy veteran having served in the Korean War.
Joe was a 1958 graduate of Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio. He worked for 27 years at Caterpillar, retiring in 1982 as an operational supervisor.
Joe was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton. He was an extraordinary minister for Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and OSF. Joe was a member of Cursillo 269 and served as a past president of Columbus Club of Knights of Columbus.
He was a former member of UAW Local 974 in East Peoria and the American Legion Post 318 in Morton.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton.
