Josephine Bavaro, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed peacefully on January 22, 2025. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Joseph, in 2018. Joe and Jo shared a beautiful life together, filled with love and laughter, for an incredible 66 years.
Born on June 5, 1930, on Staten Island, NY, Josephine spent 43 years nurturing her family and building lasting memories before moving to Middletown, NJ. In their retirement, she and Joe enjoyed many joyful years in Punta Gorda, FL, where they danced, laughed, and cherished friendships. They later returned to Red Bank, NJ, where she continued to touch the lives of those around her.
Josephine is survived by her two sons, Roy and Jeff, Roy's partner Stephen and former wife and loving daughter-in-law Karen, and daughter-in-law Francine. She takes with her the love of four devoted grandchildren-Jennifer, Lesly, Christopher, and Rebecca-and seven beautiful great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.
Josephine's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her kindness, warmth, sense of humor and love will be deeply missed but always remembered by her family and friends. In honor of her life, a celebration of her memory will be held at a later date.
Rest in peace, dear Jo. You will forever be in our hearts.
Visitation will be Friday, January 24, 2025 from 2-4 and 7-9 at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home 115 Tindall Rd., Middletown.
A funeral Mass will be offered Saturday, January 25th at 9:30am at The Church of St. Leo the Great, Lincroft.
