Josephine Kelly

Josephine Kelly, age 59, of Wauchula, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025. Born on July 26, 1965, in Wauchula, she was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. Josephine was the daughter of the late MarshneilThornton and Marjorie Stone Thornton. She is survived by her son, Jonath Kelly of Avon Park, Florida, and her daughters, Heather Rimes of Avon Park, Florida, Amber Kelly (Dieulitan Louisjeune) of Wauchula, Florida, and Leah Kelly of Avon Park, Florida. She was a loving grandmother to Brandon Rimes, Olivia Thornton, Ava Louisjeune, Zoey Louisjeune, Dieulitan Louisjeune, Zendaya Louisjeune, Jayceon Louisjeune, and Zyaire Bradley, who will cherish her memory forever. Josephine is also survived by her brothers, Jack Thornton of Polk County, Florida, and James Ray Thornton of Wauchula, Florida as well as her sisters, Joyce Dulaney (Thomas) of Wauchula, Florida, Janet Dickey of Wauchula, Florida, and Judy Thornton of Wauchula, Florida. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jeanette Bishop. Josephine's spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She was known for her infectious smile, her unwavering support, and her ability to bring joy to those around her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered. A memorial service to celebrate Josephine's life will be held at a later date.
