Passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025 at the age of 92. Born on July 9, 1933 to James and Lillie Mae (Smith) Wygant in Webberville, Michigan. A loving and loyal figure, she was a beacon of warmth and kindness, possessing an extraordinary ability to make anyone feel like family. Josephine had worked as a nurses aide and also in a dental lab for a number of years but it was her title of homemaker that she held with pride. She loved to quilt and immerse herself in a good book. A member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the 40 et 8 Silver Key Ladies, she was also an active part of her community. Josephine was someone who never knew a stranger, she would talk to anyone, treating everyone she met with kindness and respect. Family was the cornerstone of Josephine's life. Her grandchildren were her absolute joy, and she adored them with every fiber of her being.
Surviving is her daughter, Linda Jo (Jay) Klein; son, Swen Larson; daughter-in-law, Laura Larson; grandchildren, Kasey (Rob) Peters, Shyanne (Rueben Soto) Larson, Dalton (Alexis Luckett) Larson, Evan Larson; great grandchildren, Zayla Hagler, Meadow Soto, Leona Soto, Rustyn Larson as well as many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Gerald Larson; son, Eric Larson; siblings, Ronald (Pearl) Wygant, Marilyn (Bob) Ritchison, Robert Wygant (Carol O'Kelly) as well as her parents.
Family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. at Skinner Funeral Home, 101 W. Jolly Rd. Lansing, MI 48910. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025 at the funeral home with burial to take place at Summit Cemetery in Williamston. A luncheon will follow the graveside at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 835 High Street, Williamston, MI 48895.
