Josephine "JoMarie" S. Lowe, age 83, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025, at Rain Forest Landing in Knoxville, TN. A beloved wife, mother and grandmother. JoMarie was the oldest of nine children. Her life was a testament to love, kindness, and devotion.
She was born, Josephine Marie Salomone, February 18, 1941, Nashville, TN. A graduate of Knoxville Catholic High School, Class of 1959. She went to work after high school for AT&T, where she was a switch board operator. She moved with her family to Annapolis, MD., where her father did masonry work around Washington DC.
She married on April 25, 1964, in Annapolis, MD, to Jack E. Lowe Sr. They moved back to East Tennessee to start a family. JoMarie was not one to sit idle; while raising their four children, she decided to try her hand at making and designing wedding cakes. Over 20 years, she became a premier wedding cake designer, making multiple beautiful wedding cakes on most weekends. During UT Basketball season, she enjoyed travelling around the country with Jack, following the Lady Vols Basketball team. She also enjoyed spending time and playing Bridge with her Lady's Bridge Club.
Preceded in death by her husband Jack E. Lowe Sr., and parents Vincent and Josephine "Dodie" Prickett Salomone.
She is survived by four children: Jack E. Lowe Jr. (Tina), James E. Lowe, Julia Wamack (Albert), and Jody Skole (Tony); five sisters; one brother; eight grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Rose Funeral & Cremation-Broadway; 1421 N. Broadway, Knoxville. Father Tim Sullivan will conduct a Catholic Rosary at 3:30 in the chapel for anyone who would like to attend. Commemoration Service will begin at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 3, 2025, at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery Chapel; 2200 E Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville.
