Josh was born on November 6, 2002 to the parents of Lawyer Lee "Law" Burks III and Cynthia Marie "Cyndi" Strange Burks in Hinsdale, IL. At the age of three, he moved with his family to Dublin, OH. While there, he began his matriculation at Dublin Community Pre-school and Chapman Elementary school. Josh was beloved by his classmates and friends. He played tee ball and flag football. He enjoyed golfing.
Josh and his family moved to Barrington, IL in 2011. He attended North Barrington Elementary School, Station Middle School and graduated from Barrington High School in 2021. He attended Illinois State University's School of Business.
Josh loved playing sports, especially football. He excelled on defense and loved being a member of the trench gang with his beloved football brothers. He played recreational basketball and was a member of the throwers for track and field.
Josh loved the Lord. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Willow Creek Community Church in the lake on June 22, 2014. Josh loved life. He had an infectious laugh and enjoyed swimming and hanging out with his friends. Josh will be missed by everyone he came into contact with. He was so smart and enjoyed "spitting" facts about various topics that would leave you amazed.
Josh is survived by his parents Law and Cyndi Burks; elder sister, Jessica "Jessie" Burks of DeKalb, IL; younger brother, Jonah Burks of Lake Barrington, IL; grandmother Alvinnetta Burks of Wimauma, FL; grandfather, Lawyer Lee Burks, Jr; and a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins from all over the US and China.
Josh's visitation is from 3-9pm, Friday December 9 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake Cook Road), Barrington.
Josh's celebration of life services will be at 9am Saturday, December 10 at Willow Creek Community Church Chapel, Entrance B, 67 Algonquin Road, South Barrington, IL, with a reception following at the church. Burial will be held privately with family.
