ANDERSON, IN – Joshua "Josh" Cowart, 43, passed away in his residence surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, following a 5-year illness.
He was born on March 8, 1982, in Anderson to Dean and Phoebe (Baledge) Cowart. He was a graduate of Frankton High School-Class of 2002. Josh had worked on the support staff at Phoenix Services in Anderson where he first met his wife Alecia while working there. More recently, Josh was a paver operator for DC Construction of Pendleton. He was skilled in repair and installation of car audio systems. He was also an accomplished tattoo artist. Josh was an avid fan of "Sponge Bob." Most of all he was devoted solely to his beloved Alecia. They were each other's person and they shared the same soul. Then Josh 's attention was focused on the rest of his family. He loved his music with his favorite band being Led Zeppelin. Due to the complications of his chronic illness, Josh supported the use of cannabis. Josh was blessed with a "laid back" personality, never expressing anger in any way. He was a kind and beautiful soul with a golden heart. His smile and gentle spirit will be sadly missed, but warmly and fondly remembered.
