Leslie Frix Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Owens Funeral Home - Alexandria on Mar. 15, 2026.
ALEXANDRIA, IN – Former Alexandria resident Leslie Rene` Frix, 67, entered peace and rest on Saturday, March 7, 2026, in Elgin, Illinois following an extended journey with cancer.

She was born on December 1, 1958, in Anderson to Lloyd and Doris (McCarty) Frix. She was a graduate of Alexandria-Monroe High School-Class of 1977. Part of Leslie's heritage was being raised in the Alexandria First Baptist Church, where loving family members taught her spiritual principles. It was being introduced to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and a love of Him as her Lord and Savior that sustained her faith, especially during the difficult journey with her illness Leslie's life was a testament to the power of a heart fully surrendered to God. To know Leslie was to see a reflection of the Savior she adored! Though she has finished her earthly race, the legacy of Leslie's devotion remains. She lived with her eyes fixed on eternity, and we find great comfort in the promise of John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Leslie Frix lived for the Lord, died in the Lord, and now rests eternally in His arms.

Leslie dedicated nearly 40 years to American Airlines, where she didn't just hold a job-she built a distinguished career. As a Trainer, she was responsible for shaping the next generation of aviation professionals. Her impact was profound; the sheer number of colleagues who visited her during her final days was a testament to the lives she touched and the respect she earned throughout four decades of service.

While she achieved great professional success, Leslie's true "wealth" was found in her family. Her children were her heart, and her grandchildren were quite simply her entire life. Most recently, she was filled with joyful, infectious anticipation as she prepared to become a Great-Grandmother. She had already begun the hunt for the perfect gifts, eager to shower the new addition with the same love she gave so freely to everyone else. Leslie was a woman whose life was defined by her radiant spirit, her professional excellence, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved. She leaves behind a legacy that sparkles as brightly as she did. It is clear that Leslie was a vibrant, powerhouse of a woman who left a trail of "sparkle" wherever she went.

Those who knew Leslie will remember her for her "more is more" philosophy when it came to life. Whether it was shopping for the perfect find, enjoying a gourmet meal with friends, or finding anything with enough bling to catch the light, she lived with flair. Despite her busy life, she never missed the small moments of connection. Every morning began with a cherished ritual: a group text with her mother and daughter, filled with fun pictures and the kind of "good morning" energy that only Leslie could provide.

"She didn't just enter a room; she brightened it. Her sparkle wasn't just in what she wore, but in how she made people feel."

Her mother, her children, her beloved grandchildren, and a community of friends and coworkers will miss her dearly. Though she is no longer with us, her influence will continue to shine in the lives of the family she adored and the professionals she mentored. On March 7, 2026, Jesus touched Leslie Rene Frix and gave her the ultimate healing and called her to her eternal home.
