Joshua R. Falk, 32 of Lake Mills, WI (formerly of Oakfield) passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Rainbow Hospice Inpatient Center of Johnson Creek.
Josh was born on October 20, 1991, in Fond du Lac, WI, the son of Kevin and Ann (Weiglein) Falk. He grew up in the Oakfield/Lomira area and graduated from Oakfield High School in 2010. While in middle school, Josh met Brittany Meyer. The two were the very best of friends, becoming close in middle school, and remained that way through their high school years, college, and to the present day. The couple transitioned from friends to more in 2021 and moved to Lake Mills together in 2023. Josh was an athlete and a dedicated sports fan. Soccer was a favorite sport to play and watch, and he participated from park and rec to adult league. After he became sick, Josh and good friend Kyle Hungerford took a trip to London to witness a Tottenham Hotspur F.C. victory in person. He was a golfer, spending many days on the links with friends. He was an Xbox guy, playing with vigor and audible reactions. Friends. Josh was a real friend who was dedicated to his people. It's been said that he should have run for public office because he was so loved by so many. Character qualities include his sass, intellect, inability to be wrong, and most importantly– his strength, courage, and love for others. Please reflect on Josh's words to Brittany: "Fate brought us together. Destiny will keep us together. Thanks for always being there for me, especially through trying times. The amount of support you provide for me is unfathomable. With that said, you deserve the world every day, but even more so today. Love you!"
He is survived by: his partner Brittany Meyer of Lake Mills, paternal grandmother Janet Falk of Fond du Lac; parents Kevin (Cheri) Falk of Shawano and Ann (Dean Flitter) Wirtz of Campbellsport; siblings Kayla (Cal) Lamore of Fort Atkinson, Megan (Dylan) Rusch of Jackson, Annalise (Jake McDermott) Wirtz of West Bend, Nicole (John Wrass) Matenaer, Stacey (Jeremy) Tischendorf of Strumm, and Allan (Kerri) Matenaer of De Pere; nieces and nephews Ella and Landon Rusch; stepfather Jason Wirtz; Brittany's family, parents Steve and Darcy Meyer of Oakfield, and her sister Brooke (Keenan Garfoot) Meyer of Green Bay. Josh is also survived by a gigantic group of friends and many other family members.
Josh is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Janet and Richard Weiglein and his paternal grandfather Richard Falk.
The family would also like to thank the enormous amount of healthcare professionals that have fought with him during his eight-year battle with cancer.
