Joshua Dee Lott

Joshua Dee Lott passed away unexpectedly at age 47 on February 22, 2022. Joshua was born on July 19, 1974 in Lansing Michigan. He was a devoted husband, father, son, uncle, brother, nephew, grandson and friend. His family was his life. Though he was only on earth for a short time, he is remembered every day by his family and friends. Josh had a smile that could lite up a room. He was one of the hardest working dedicated souls.
He was proud of his career as a carpenter and bridgebuilder, especially some of the largest projects in Michigan including the Rouge River, the Ambassador and the Gordy Howe. He loved showing videos of his work on the bridges to friends and family. When driving in the car with his family he would pass under so many bridges and say "yep, I worked on that one", over and over until he drove them crazy.
He grew up in our small town of Webberville in a tight knit neighborhood with close friendships such as the Hulls and the Rhodes, who he considered family. His strength in friendships carried over to his time on the bridges, when he would make a friend, it would be a friend for life. He was well-known in the community and could be seen on the sidelines for all of his kids sporting events.
Just like his grandfather he'd turn a pile of scrap into a masterpiece. No piece of wood went unused. He was quite a MacGyver when it came to building things. His carpenter days were at K&D Construction and Lott Brothers Drywall. He was always willing to help on any side job project even after a full day's work and if someone ever needed a hand, he was there in a heartbeat. He was a hard worker and was never afraid to try to make or fix something and even if he didn't know how, he'd YouTube it. He overcame many obstacles in his life to become the successful man he was. When he could get away from work, he loved spending time with his family on vacations and summer days at the family pond. He enjoyed working alongside his family throughout his entire career and any miscellaneous projects alongside his brothers and dad. He would stop at the family farm every day after work just to say "Hi" to his parents and siblings. He often spent time at the farm picking up acorns or other types of tree seeds and plant them randomly around the farm. He was our Johnny Appleseed.
He is survived by his wife Dana Lott of 24 years. Children, Austin Samuel Lott, Avery Spencer Lott and Addilynn Saige Lott. Parents Mark and Mary Lott. Brothers, Nathan Lott (wife Kelly Lott), Seth Lott (wife Shannon Lott) and Aaron Lott (wife Karry Lott), his grandmother Charlotte (Ancel) Coe, Sister-in-law Jennifer Carrier (Joseph Grabosky), nephew Lincoln, special friends Kip and Melissa Carrier and several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He was proceeded in death by his grandparents Bill and Alice Lott, grandpa Dee Ancel and great uncle Harold Risch. Visitation will be at the Webberville High School cafeteria on Friday, February 25th from 4-8pm. There will be a Catholic memorial service held at St. Mary's in Williamston MI on Saturday February 26th at 11:00 with visitation 1 hour before. The family is asking for thoughts and prayers as they grieve this tremendous loss.
