Joshua Joel Pangelinan Manahan, Beloved Son, Brother, and Friend, Dies at 44.
It is with broken hearts that we share the tragic passing of Joshua Joel Pangelinan Manahan, who died on April 28, 2025, in Portland, Oregon, at the age of 44, following a senseless act of violence. Joshua was a bright, loving, and fiercely loyal soul whose presence was felt everywhere he went. He was taken from us far too soon, leaving behind a family and community who loved him deeply.
Born on January 23, 1981 in Tamuning, Guam, Josh grew up surrounded by love and a deep sense of family. He was the cherished son of Catherine Pangelinan and Melvin Manahan and a devoted brother to Brian and Kia. He is also survived by countless cousins, his aunties and uncles, and friends who considered him family.
To know Joshua was to know true loyalty and compassion. He had heart, the kind that showed up for people, especially when they needed it most. He carried a quiet strength and an unwavering love for those around him.
He lived with a deep sense of purpose and connection to his loved ones. He was a protector, a giver, and someone who never hesitated to stand up for what he believed in.
Joshua's loss is a devastating blow to all who knew him. But in our grief, we choose to remember and celebrate the life he lived, a life marked by loyalty and love.
Services to honor Josh's life will include a Rosary and celebration of life, with details to be announced by the family in the coming days. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a GoFundMe fundraiser created to help support his mother and siblings during this time of loss.
