On Tuesday March 7, Joshua Raymond Shelstad, loving son, passed away at the age of twenty-two. He was born on March 31, 2000 in Tacoma, WA to Kevin Shelstad and Tonya Norman-Shelstad. Josh played the violin in Orchestra during Jr. High School. He was an excellent marksman at a very young age, completing the Hunter's Safety Course when he was just 10 years old. He had a great love of the outdoors. Nothing was off limits outside. He loved riding go-carts, quads, motorcycles and sea-doo's. He loved camping and fishing with family and friends growing up. Josh and his best friend Niko, spent countless hours in DeCoursey Park during his teenage years hiking the many trails. He loved all animals, dogs, cats and especially frogs. He never met a frog he didn't like.
Josh is survived by his father Kevin Shelstad (Gina), mother Tonya Norman-Shelstad (Jason), maternal grandmother Raean deBoer, Uncles Kim Shelstad (Janet), Travis Norman, Cliff Reichel (Betty), Aunts Dawn Watts (Terry), Luanne Lundberg (Richard), cousins Andy and Emily Shelstad, Donavon and Devon Watts, MaryAnn Steinkrauss (Matt), Nick Lundberg (Joni), and Eli Lundberg. He also leaves behind his best friend Niko Salesky and lifelong friend Savannah McVittie. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday April 1, 2023, 1 p.m. at Station House 726, located at 427 Meridian Puyallup, WA 98371. Those attending the memorial, please wear teal. This was Josh's favorite color.

Dustin and I miss you so much we can´t believe you´ve passed on we think about you all the time and I hope you´re resting easy. I will always remember when you and I met in orchestra in 5th grade. You were always someone I could count on after that. You were funny and had a beautiful soul that cared for everyone

My deepest condolences Kevin and Toyna.

I am Tiffany, Niko's Aunt, I lived in the mother-in-law house while Josh and Niko were growing up together. This picture of Josh reminded me of what a great smile he had.

Those boys sure had a lot of fun together. It was nice getting to watch them play "army" or anything else they decided to get up to. Josh was very good friend to Niko and was very kind to Niko's little brother Nate, which I know Nate appreciated. And, he was always very sweet to me.

I am deeply sorry for your loss.

You are gone but not forgotten.
