Joshua Bert Spears, age 48 of Fort Mill, SC passed away on December 30, 2024.
Joshua was the son of Bert and Fayetta Amburgey Spears, born March 3, 1976 in Bloomdale, Ohio
Joshua graduated from Clover High School in 1995 and then attended the University of South Carolina. He served in the Army National Guard and the Reserve of the Army where he held positions with the Military Police Corp, US Army Special Operations Command, and the Criminal Investigations Division. He was Honorably discharged in October 2016.
Throughout his career, Joshua worked in corporate security sales, and corporate & executive security, holding positions with Comporium, Stanley Black & Decker, AFL, Intel Corporation, and Vail Resorts. He also successfully completed the FBI Citizens Academy program in 2019.
Joshua enjoyed boating on the lake, camping, hiking, skiing, and loved the large family gatherings at the lake and the beach.
Joshua is survived by son Nathan Joshua Spears; Brothers David Spears, Robert Spears, Van Spears, Chuck Spears, and William Spears; Sisters Vickie Kenyon and Mylinda Auxter; and Nieces and Nephews Christopher, Jimmy Paul, Tina, Krista, Cole, Kevin, Brad, Drew, Devon, Callie, Kane, Kasi, Bryce, Courtney, Sydnie, Emma, and Elise.
Preceding Joshua in death are parents Bert & Fayetta Spears and Brother James Spears.
A celebration of Life / Memorial service will be held Friday, January 10th at 11:00 AM at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill, SC with pastor Barry Yates officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill cemetery in York, SC where Joshua will be laid to rest beside his parents Bert & Fayetta Spears. Military Honors will be conducted.
