Joshua C. Thomas

Joshua C. Thomas, age 33 passed away December 12, 2023 surrounded by family and friends at his home in Elmer. Joshua is the son of Melvin W. Thomas, IV and Shelly A. Thomas. He was a lifelong resident of Salem County. Joshua graduated from Woodstown High School in 2008 and attended Salem Community College as a Graphic Arts major. He was employed at Jet.com until shortly after his brain cancer diagnosis in 2016. Joshua later took a brief absence from employment and enrolled in South Jersey Technical Training School to become an electrician. He was then hired by Eric M. Krise, where he worked until his stroke in 2020. Josh was a member of Quinton Baptist Church, where he attended his entire life. Josh's strong faith and amazing sense of humor helped him through all the trials and tribulations he faced in life.
Josh leaves behind to cherish his memory his father Melvin (Lisa), his mother Shelly (Russ Malone), his devoted sister and best friend Rebecca Devaney (Joe), Grandmother Joyce Thomas, Cheri Neri (Jim), Sandra Otis, Patricia Thomas, Nathaniel & Stephanie Thomas (Daniel, Dominique and Benjamin), Rachel & Chris Jardim (Jacob, CJ, Justin, Holly and Jared) Steven & Lauren Shea (Steven, Colin and Leah), Stephanie and Brad Estabrook (Evie, Aidan, Shealynn and Elise), Jamie Hamel (Arayah and Amaiya), Amberly McCurdy (Peyton, Addison and Emerson), Shawn Shea, Keith Bachman, Sherri Bachman-Porter and Stephen Meisner, his dearest friends Modesty Dolbow (Valen), Robert Braxton, Lamar and Sharon Shafer (Jessy, Camille, Lamar Jr, Maggie, Travis and Amanda) as well as many extended family members and friends.
Josh was preceded in death by his Grandparents Melvin W. Thomas III, G. Michael Bachman, Patricia Bachman and his aunt Sandra Meisner.
Services will be held at Quinton Baptist Church, 46 E. Main Street, Quinton, NJ 08072, beginning with a viewing Friday, December 15, 2023 from 6-8 PM, viewing Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 10:00 AM followed by the funeral at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery on Richwood Road, Elmer, NJ.
