Jimmy was educated in the Robbinsville/Allentown school system. He was employed by Acme Hamilton before they closed and later worked for Atlantic Express as a bus driver.
Jimmy married Christine Mainor, and from that union they had a son, Jeffrey.
He was baptized at a young age at the Robbinsville First Baptist Church. He enjoyed listening to the old gospel singers like the 5 Blind Boys of Alabama, Swanee Quintet, and Nightingales.
Jimmy was predeceased by his parents, Joshua and Dorothy Whiting; his wife, Christine Mainor Whiting; his son, Jeffrey Whiting; and his sister, Sara Kent.
He leaves to cherish his memories: two sisters, Evelyn Gorden and Brenda Floyd; a brother-in-law, Samuel Floyd; a brother, Donald Whiting; a very close friend, Madelyn McKinney; grandchildren, Alexis, Tyler, and Jeffrey Whiting, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
