Hello. I'm John Franklin, Michelle's Grandfather. My wife, Judy, and I offer our sincere condolences.
On this occasion, we each celebrate Josh's life – and pause in our own daily routines to focus on our memory of him as a loving Son, Husband, proud father and step-grandfather, a friend and a fellow tradesman.
We can also easily recall his wry sense of humor, his witty remarks, and, for some, his pranks.
It's been said that "As time moves on, we may not remember exactly what he said or even what he did, but we will remember how he affected our lives." Josh's happy-go-lucky attitude and deep feelings as he struggled with life's challenges were inspiring.
Josh-Joshua Kyle Wilcox – was born on June 28th, 1978, in Wray, Colorado to father Robert and Mother Patricia. His mom, Patricia, passed away this last Fall. Josh has two brothers, Jason Wilcox and Zach Moores.
A memory to share is of Josh and Jason chasing one another around their home. Jason, who was shorter, ran under the kitchen counter – with Josh in hot pursuit - and he, being of larger stature, smacked right into the counter....
His early years were spent in the eastern Colorado towns of Yuma and Kirk, and then Burlington where he attended middle school. His Uncle Randy recalled heading out for a day of fishing to Bonny reservoir with the family in Grandma Helen's and Grandpa Donald's pontoon boat....
Josh then moved to Arvada, where he graduated from Arvada High School. After High School, Josh went to work for Nick Westover as an electrician. He worked on various projects with Nick and my grandson Bobby. Josh continued as an electrician until his passing.
Josh married Cyndi Stover in 2016. They lived in Arvada until her passing in 2021...
Ariel Lyne, Josh's daughter, was close to her dad. Ariel, her dad, and her Grandfather Bob would travel and would often go on shopping trips enjoying one another's company. Ariel fondly recalls being pranked by Josh. Her dad once called her with the news that she and he were flying to Las Vegas – Exciting! But it was a spur of the moment 'gotcha' on his part...
Las year Josh married long-time friend Michelle Teemley-Logan. Michelle and Josh were making a home in Aurora at the time of his passing. They spent much of late summer helping Judy and I clean out a condo and moving in. I remember Josh enthusiastically hauling out trash and debris (with trash talk) even though he was still recuperating from illness. He looked forward to getting back to his trade.
Josh loved animals, enjoying family, dogs and cats who were drawn to his gentle spirit.
Josh was a man of large stature and expansive personality. He would literally "fill the room." He was an energetic, outgoing individual facing life with a great attitude and impressing all who he met. I overheard some talk about Josh declaring wryly that when he died, he wanted "a toilet for a headstone with a heart-shaped seat." Ah, Josh.....
He left us all too soon, but as Abraham Lincoln once observed, "In the end it is not the years in your life that count. It is the life in your years."
We wish you peace, Josh...
