Joy L. Ayres, 70, of Marysville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 28, 2025 at the OSU-Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.
A loving mother, grandmother and sister, she worked as an associate at the Village Pantry in Marysville and attended the New Destiny Church. Joy loved cooking and baking, and was excellent at both, she enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, and was also a big fan of Mickey Mouse.
Born January 13, 1955 in Honolulu, HI, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Donna (Day) Ferguson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, William “Billy” Ayres.
Joy is survived by her children, Chris (Tressia) Ayres of Dunnellon, FL. and Jo (Jeff) Bennett of Richwood; grandchildren, Jeremy, Kanice, “Lil” William, Deanna, Sarah, Alexis, Ethan, and Ashlyn; great grandchildren, Trevor, Liam, Hazel and Kaden; and her brothers, Jeff and John Ferguson.
A service to celebrate Joy’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the Wilson Funeral Home 621 W. 5th St. Marysville. Pastor Jason Razor will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will follow the service on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
