Joy Edell Blackburn, 79, of Cleveland, TN was peacefully met with eternal rest on October 11, 2025, with family by her side. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles M. Blackburn, loving parents Robert and Edith Leslie, and younger siblings Gary Leslie and Kathy Walraven (Leslie) She'll be cherished by the children she leaves behind, Charles (Teresa) Blackburn of Cleveland, Tn, Sheila (Michael) Fuhs, of Pickerinton, OH, and Robert (Crystal) Blackburn,of Jefferson, OH, and her siblings Sherry, Patricia, and Danny. She will be missed by her 11 grandchildren Charles (Alexa) Kubiak, Judi Blackburn, Maggie Bell, Bradley Blackburn, Charles (C.J.) Blackburn, Emily Blackburn, Andrew (Emily) Fuhs, Angelea (Matt) Boezio, Alayna Fuhs , Cori Jade Williford, and Constance Lynn Blackburn. And 13 great grandchildren.
Joy enjoyed working in retail and interacting with people, as well as reading, cooking, and watching / listening to Jimmy Swaggart, and raising her family. She loved the Lord and will be fondly remembered for her compassionate nature, giving spirit, and for meeting life's challenges with perseverance and prayer.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 3:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home - The Mack Shelton Parlor with Reverend Guinn Green officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm prior to the service.
