Graveside services celebrating the life of Mrs. Joy Baugh Eppinette, 85, of Monroe, LA will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Oak Ridge Baptist Cemetery in Oak Ridge, LA with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Eppinette was born in Borger, TX on March 23, 1938, and passed away in Ruston, LA on March 17, 2024. She was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School and Northwestern State University. Joy worked as an administrative assistant for Century Telephone from the company’s founding until her retirement in the mid 1990’s. She assisted with its debut on the NYSE, and she was the first female to hold an executive position with the company. In retirement she enjoyed traveling with her husband and their beloved dog, Lucy, as well as hosting gatherings of family and friends and spoiling her grandchildren. Mrs. Eppinette is preceded in death by her parents, Wayland and Arlene Baugh; her husband of 40 years, Claude Eppinette; her first husband, Tom Bostick; brothers, Jimmy and Jerry Baugh; nephews, Thomas Marion Bostick and Jamie Baugh; and her brother-in-law, Harry Bostick.
Survivors include her stepchildren, Brad Eppinette and wife, Janet, Jeff Eppinette, and Todd Eppinette and wife, Sharon; niece, Melissa “Missy” Mausen and husband, Scott; nephews, Jimbo Baugh and wife, Shelly and John Baugh and wife, Malania; grandchildren, Lydia Antley, Hannah Colvin, Aaron Eppinette, Nicholas Eppinette and Jenna Eppinette.
