Joy Moore

Joy Moore of Richmond passed away on Tuesday November 18, 2025, with her family by her side at the age of 69. Joy was born on March 22, 1956, in Connersville, the daughter of the late Alfred and Viola Terry Moore.

Joy was a loving sister, mother, aunt, and grandmother that was raised in local Pentecostal churches. She enjoyed swimming, playing card games, flower gardening, and cooking. She was known for her homemade meat loaf and potato soup. Most importantly, Joy loved spending time with and caring for her family.

Those she leaves behind to love and cherish her memories include her children, Amanda (James) Blackburn, Prospera (Brandon) Cole and Charles Fredrick Hill, Jr.; siblings, William (Nancy) Moore, Joyce (Donald) Gray, and Becky Moore; grandchildren, Patience Blackburn, Chloe Blackburn, Cameron Cole, Cayden Cole, Mason Hill and Aniya Hill; her former husband, Rigo Moreno; special niece, Leslie Hammond, as well as several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Burchell Moore, Elbert Moore, Connie Moore, Lora Mae Hammond Napier, and Bonnie Mitchell.

Friends and family may gather at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, on Monday December 8, 2025, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm. Joy will be laid to rest at Laurel North Cemetery.
