Joy Charylene Eads Parrett, age 85, widow of the late Dillard Parrett, passed away Sunday December 28, 2025, at the Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Berea, KY. She was born September 23, 1940, in Eubank, KY to the late Harvey and Gracie Gross Eads. Joy enjoyed the finer things of life. She was very kindhearted, enjoyed shopping, a strong Christian, raising her boys in church, and her faith in the Lord was tremendous. Joy retired from Parker Seal Company as a Quality Inspector. She was always working, enjoying projects inside and out around the house. Joy is of the Holiness faith.
In addition to her husband and parents, Joy was preceded in death by one son, Michael David Mounts, siblings, Lou Ann Eads Andis, Lorene Eads Blankenship, David Eads, Lee Eads, George Eads, Duell Eads, Marcelles Eads, Marie Jordan, Bro. Harold Eads, Marilyn Akers, and grandson, Christopher Mounts.
Joy is survived by three sons, Steve Mounts of Berea, KY, Jeff Mounts and his wife Lisa of Berea, KY, Scott Mounts of Berea, KY, step children, Wendall Parrett and his wife Peggy of McKee, KY, Jeff Parrett of Annville, KY, Tony Parrett and his wife Teresa of Berea, KY, and Deborah McDaniel and her husband Junior of Richmond, KY, one brother Earl Ray Eads, grandchildren, Marc Mounts and his wife Kim, Jackie Cauley and her husband Willie, Jeffery Mounts and his wife Kathy, Michael Mounts and his wife Candice, Zachery Mounts and his wife Natasha, Sean Mounts and his wife Ana, Jennifer Mounts, and great grandchildren, Zoey, Riley, Kendra, Kimberly, Aubrey, Abby, River, Kelaiah, Olive, Karson, Ben, and Allison.
Visitation will be 5:00PM – 8:00PM Friday January 2, 2026, and funeral services 12:00PM Saturday January 3, 2026, at Davis & Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Achee Eads and Rev. Zach Mounts officiating. You may view the service live at www.davisandpowellfuneralhome.com Burial will follow in the Vaughn/Parrett Cemetery on Asa Flat Rd. Annville, KY. Pallbearers will be Jeff Mounts, Michael Mounts, Zach Mounts, and Marc Mounts.
