Joyce Algee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Massie Funeral Home on Jan. 10, 2024.
Joyce Lawanda "Foxy" Algee 85 was born August 28, 1938 to the late Josephine Hickman and Walter Hollis in Pulaski, Illinois. The fifth of 11 children.
Joyce transitioned to her eternal home on January 4, 2024 at the Mercy(Southeast Hospital) in Cape Girardeau, Missouri with her children by her side. She was married to Herbert Algee until his passing in 1992. She was a praying woman that loved the Lord. She was a follower of Jesus Christ. Joyce had faith and firmly believed that God was her provider, her protector all she needed.
Joyce enjoyed cooking, going to bingo, watching Family Fued and the Bobby Jones Gospel. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and siblings. Joyce loved everyone and treated them with love and kindness. Those that knew her loved her, to some she was their mother presence, love and laughter. She will greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herbert Algee, daughter Dorsey Ann Hollis, five brothers, two brothers-in-law, two sisters and four sisters-in-law and two great grandsons.
She leaves to cherish her memories and the love she gave her five daughters: Shirley (Daniel) Brown, Nina (Jessie) Davis, Stephanie Anderson, Dionne Mehalopoulos, Andrail Henry and one son Timothy Henry. Two sisters Lorene Beverly and Alene Reed, two brothers Willie (Charlene) Hickman and Alphonso (Maria) Cherry. Two sisters-in-law Mary Meeks and Florida Cherry, 18 grandchildren, 74 great grandchildren and five great great grand children. Sleep on Mother and get your rest, we loved you, but God loved you best.
