JOYCE HARPER BAXLEY
Joyce Harper Baxley, 82, current resident of Brittons Neck and former long-time resident of Dillon, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 17, 2025. A graveside service will be held at Soules Chapel Cemetery (Located on Soul Chapel Road in Gresham) at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 20, 2025 directed by Richardson Funeral Home of Marion. Mrs. Baxley was born in Marion, SC a daughter of the late Rembert Manning Harper and Cora Lee Byrd Harper. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Richard Manning Harper. She was a retired Registered Nurse for St. Eugene Hospital and South Carolina Mental Health Nurse in Dillon County. Mrs. Baxley enjoyed quilting, reading and gardening.
Surviving are her husband, David Blondell Baxley; daughters, Cheryl Denise Baxley and Leigh Ann Baxley Brooke (James C. Brooke); a son, David Blondell Baxley, Jr.; sisters, Barbara Harper Meadows (James Meadows) and Maryilyn Harper Gibson; two grandchildren, William Brooke and Ty Brooke; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Soules Chapel Cemetery 1203 Swintz Court Gresham, SC 29546 or to Spring Branch Cemetery 213 Crepe Myrtle Court Marion, SC 29571.
