Linda Baxley

Linda Mae Chordash Baxley, age 81 of Canton, Ohio, was born on January 31, 1944, in Dover, Ohio to the late Peter and Anna R Sekely Chordash, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025. Linda was known for her kind heart, compassion for cooking and dedication to her family and to her work. She recently retired in December 2024 from the University of Mount Union Food Service, where she gave 36 years of service. Linda enjoyed her job and all of the college students that passed through those cafeteria doors and treated them like they were her own children, a maternal figure surrogate for those missing their own parents while away attending college. She also enjoyed traveling with her daughter and spending time with family and their dog Winston. She had an incredible sense of humor, could make anyone laugh and put a smile on their face and make them feel welcomed and loved.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; an older sister, Fay Rae Muniz and younger brother, Peter (Petie) Michael Chordash.
She is survived by her only daughter, Tina Marie Baxley Kraner; younger sisters: Mary Chordash (Dennis) Risden and Anna Chordash (Richard) Keenan and all of her nieces and nephews: Denise Risden (Richard) Schilling, Tracey Risden Hoebeke, Dennis Risden, Jr., Shelly Keenan (Jeffrey) Traphagen, Jason (Staci Gurney) Keenan; great nieces and nephews: Ryan Schilling, Kyle Schilling, Payge Percy, Ashley (Sam Franco) Visi, Logan Visi, Justius Risden, Kashius Risden, Angelee Risden, Trè (Kristen Kerns) Cline, Keenan Traphagen, Kaia Traphagen, Dakota (Allison) Gurney, Carter Keenan; and a great-niece and three great-nephews.
Calling hours will be Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 10 - 11 AM at the Arnold Funeral Home at 1517 Market Ave N. Memorial services will be at 11 AM with Celebrant Kevin O'Brien officiating.
