Obituary
Joyce Lydia Bronock, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2023, in Miramar, Florida. She was born on November 23, 1934, in London, England. Both her husband, Derek John Bronock, and her brother William Fussell (Valerie), preceded her in death. She lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and humor.
Joyce was a woman of many passions. She had a love for knitting, a skill she perfected over the years, creating countless sweaters, blankets, and gloves for her loved ones. Her creations were a testament to her patience and dedication, each stitch meticulously crafted with love.
She had a particular fondness for mysteries, especially British mysteries, spending countless hours engrossed in the twists and turns of "Inspector Morse," "Vera," and of course "Midsomer Murders." Her love for these stories was infectious, and before you knew it you were sitting down with a cup of hot tea trying to figure out who killed the Vicar in the latest episode of "Father Brown."
Joyce held a special place in her heart for animals, particularly elephants. She had a deep respect and admiration for these majestic creatures, captivated by their intelligence, love of family and grace. Her bedroom was home to many elephant figurines of all shapes and sizes.
She also had a sweet tooth, with a particular fondness for dark chocolate and vanilla ice cream. She could often be found enjoying these treats in the company of her family, her laughter, and the occasional pun, made tea time memorable.
Joyce is survived by her son, Lee Bronock (Phyllis) of Hattiesburg, MS, her daughters, Liana Hannsz (Michael) of Liberty, MO, and Lydia Badillo (Rafael) of the home. Grandchildren, Claire Nugent (David), Sundara Bronock, Cyrus Bronock (Camden), and Hunter and Haley Badillo who will miss her dearly. She was also great grandmother to Sara, Vanessa and Ashley Nugent as well as Sasha and Samuel Caruso. They, along with friends and family members in Europe, America, and Australia, will remember Joyce for her kindness and generosity.
Joyce's life was marked by her enduring love for her family, her passion for her hobbies, and her unwavering kindness. She lived her life with grace and humor, and she left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones, in the stitches of her knitted creations, in the pages of the mysteries she loved, in the admiration of the animals she loved, and in the sweet taste of dark chocolate and vanilla ice cream.
To honor Joyce's wishes to "not have a fuss made over her", there will be no funeral service. We invite you to please privately celebrate her memory in your own ways. Know that she will be with us all in spirit. (But leave out a bit of chocolate just in case.)
Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time.
