Mrs. Joyce Faye (Lawson) Carr, age 86 of Knoxville, formerly of LaFollette passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. She was a devoted member of Ball Camp Baptist Church, loved gardening, and was formerly employed with Peoples National Bank for 10 years while living in LaFollette. She is preceded in death by parents, Jesse and Nannie Lawson, and brother, Ralph W. Lawson.
She is survived by husband, Gene H. Carr of Knoxville, son, Aaron Carr (Jennifer) of Knoxville, daughter, Christy Carr Knope (Jason) of Marietta, GA, grandchildren, Makenzie Carr (Michael) of Savannah, GA, Jackson Knope of Marietta, GA, Holden Knope of Atlanta, GA, Courtney Carr of Knoxville, and Donald Carpenter of Carthage, NY, great-grandchild, Asher Johnson of Watertown, NY, brother, William Earl Lawson of LaFollette, sister-in-law, Lois Carr McMahan (Jack) of Sevierville, nieces, Jackie McMahan Underwood (Randy) of Sevierville, and Lori McMahan Moore of Sevierville, special friends, Mildred Asbury, Carol Adams, Shirley Coker, Jo Ellen Rast, Lisa Gibson, Christine Krause, and Julie McBee Fritz.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 18, 2025 from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at Cedar Hill Baptist Church (636 Demory Road, LaFollette). Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM with Rev. Dr. Bryan Burge officiating. Interment will follow at Fincastle Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to: St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or at www.stjude.org.
