Joyce Biggs Crawford, 80 of
Lindside, WV passed away March 29, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born April 8, 1944 in Wikel, WV she was the youngest daughter of the late Mason and Jeanette Morris Biggs.
She attended Orchard Christian Center and truly loved and adored her pastor and church family. Joyce
co-owned J & B Trucking alongside her husband, Bobby for 26 years. Joyce was very well known for her cooking, canning, and her famous rolls and pies. She worked at various restaurants including Shale Bank and Lee's in Lindside and the Dairy Bar in Ballard of which she retired when it closed. Joyce was a 1962 graduate of Greenville High School and was Salutatorian of her class.
Joyce was a woman of strong faith, she loved God and her family. Her husband, children and grandchildren were her world. She shared her love each and every day, not only by words but her actions. She taught and instilled in her children hard work, faith, morals, manners and respect. She always made sure to try to treat others as she would want them to treat her. She touched many lives and will be missed greatly by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In addition to her parents Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Joe Crawford, Son-in-law Mitchell Price, brothers; Edward, James, Kyler and Wallace Biggs, sisters;
Carol Biggs, Sylvia Thornton and Vivian Comer.
Joyce is survived and will be missed by her children Joe Crawford of Lindside, Karen Hammonds with Tim Gore of Ballard, WV and Loretta Yanego and husband Jason of Lindside. Her beloved grandchildren Paul Gore, Mason Gore (Jessica), Devon Duncan (Cassie), Gabrielle Duncan, Jacob Yanego (Kaitlyn), Skylar Yanego (Justin). Great-Grandchildren of which she truly loved and adored Laken John, Kinsley and Monroe. Brother Harry (Louise) Biggs of Lindside; sisters Sarah Jane (Richard) Bowers of Lindside and Nancy Biggs of Wikel. Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Her adopted daughters Trish Michael and Sonja Thornton. Special neighbors and friends, Jim Pyne and Dewayne and Becky Shupe.
Funeral services will be at 12:00PM on Friday April 4, 2025 at Orchard Christian Center with Pastor Rusty Hughes and Rev. Warren Thornton officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Wikel. David Christian, JD Jackson, Jim Pyne, Wayne Biggs, Nat Carter, Gary Campbell, Jacob Yanego, and Justin Lamb will serve as pallbearers. Junior Wickline, Jim Gore, and Jim Houchins will be honorary pallbearers.
Family will receive friends on Thursday April 3, 2025 from 6PM till 8PM at Wickline Funeral Home in Lindside.
