Joyce A. Dias

Joyce Ann Dias, 82, of Mashpee, died suddenly on December 13, 2025. She is the beloved wife of Norman J. Dias with whom she shared 64 wonderful years of marriage.

Joyce was born on February 17, 1943 in Barnstable, MA to Donald Cabral and Claire (Tavernier) Marchant. She grew up here on the Cape and following high school worked for the Augat factory in Mashpee on the assembly line.

Joyce was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. She was also a ballplayer herself, a fantastic second base woman for the Mashpee Wampettes, a softball team. More than anything, Joyce is remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Joyce is survived by her beloved husband Norman Dias; her daughter Norma Dias; her son Brian Washington; her stepdaughter Nicole Connolly; her sisters Janet Tiexeira, and Mary Hendricks; as well as many grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Chapman Funerals and Cremations, 74 Algonquin Ave. (RTE 151), in Mashpee. Burial will immediately follow at Old Indian Cemetery, in Mashpee.
