Joyce is also survived by five children: Kathi Benoit, Plano, Texas; Kyle R. Fox, Beaver Dam, Wisconsin; Kristopher W. Fox, Columbus, OH; Kimberly (Joseph) Staley, Piqua, OH; Kent "Chip" (Diane) Fox, Piqua, OH; two sisters and brother-in-law: Sharon (Justin) O'Hara, FairFax Station, VA and Constance Fuller, Fredericksburg, VA; nine grandchildren: Nichole Baumbach, Kyle Fox, Kristin Fox, Bryant Fox, Michael Joseph Benoit, Brody Fox, Joseph Staley, Katharine Benoit and Shannon Staley; fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one grandson: Corey Fox; one son-in-law: Michael Benoit; two brothers: Dr. Richard S. Runkle, James H. Runkle; one brother-in-law: Dr. Philip L. Fuller and one niece: Susan A. Fuller.
Joyce graduated from Brown Township High School in 1951. She attended Otterbein College. Joyce was a member of Fletcher United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Piqua YWCA. Joyce worked at Elder Beerman for 20 years before retiring in 1995. She liked to garden, play cards, but most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks to Angie, Deb and Jennifer of Voisinet Home Health Care.
Funeral services for Joyce will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday February 16, 2024 at Melcher-Sowers Funeral Home in Piqua, OH with Larry Butt officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Piqua, OH. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM through 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial Contributions may be made in honor of Joyce to: Ohio's Hospice of Miami County 3230 N. County Rd 25A Troy, OH. 45373 or The Alzheimer's Association Miami Valley Chapter 6077 Far Hills Ave. #117 Dayton, OH. 45459.
