Joyce J. Goers

Joyce Goers, age 93, passed away Saturday July 26, 2025, in Shawano. Joyce was born on January 7, 1932, in Gresham to the late Harold and Ann (Fischer) Hoffman, Sr. In 1949 , she graduated from Gresham High School. On October 25, 1954, Joyce was united in marriage to Douglas "Doug" Goers at St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church in Gresham. The couple spent a wonderful 70 years together before Doug's passing in 2023. She enjoyed shopping, golfing in her younger years and vacations to Florida and Arizonia.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Tami (Fred) Dekeyser; son-in-law, Chuck (fiancé, Julie) Buckbee; grandchildren, Averi (Rod) Peralta and Shane (Leslie) Buckbee; great-grandchildren, Alex, Braxton (fiancé, Taylor), Miley, Gabriela (Cole) and Santana. She is further survived by sister-in-law, Carole Hoffman; dog, Val "Baby Girl"; and nieces and nephews.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Doug; daughter, Peggy Buckbee; parents, Harold and Ann; and brothers, Harold (Grace) Hoffman, Jr., and Richard "Dick" Hoffman.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday August 1, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano with Fr. Edward Looney officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Entombment will be at Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
