Joyce M. Goetzmann

Funeral Services for Joyce M. Goetzmann, age 95, of Picayune, MS, who passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025, will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 12:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Picayune.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Picayune.
Burial will be in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Dr. Tony Lambert will officiate the service.
A native of Picayune, MS. Joyce was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Picayune, where she served on the Sanctuary Debt Committee, Sunday School Primary Dept. teacher for 30 plus years. She was one of the founders of the Christian Care Ministries and The First Baptist Church Christmas Store for the nursing home. A faithful member of the Stephen Ministry, where she gave many resources to cover topics such as spiritual gifts discovery, grief support and spiritual growth to many people in this community. She worked at YMCA as a book keeper and then the Hallmark Store in Picayune after retiring. She loved to cook and enjoyed sharing with anyone in need. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred A. Mitchell and Alberta Jarrell Mitchell; her husband, James "Bunsie" Brian Goetzmann, Sr.; her son, James Brian Goetzmann, Jr.; her grandson, Scott Bean; her sisters, Virginia M. Stockstill and Julia Mitchell Holloway; and her brothers, Alfred A. Mitchell, Jr., and Norman "Butch" (Jewel) Mitchell.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving and devoted daughter; Ginger Bean; 2 grandchildren, Jamie Bean and Ken (Shanna) Bean; great grandchildren; Caleb Bean, Cole Bean, MaKenzie Bean, Braxton Bean, Cooper Bean, and Annie Bean; great great granddaughter, Vivienne Bean; several nieces, nephews and friends.
