Joyce Hames

Joyce (Knopf) Hames, 85, of Enfield, beloved wife of 63 years to Leslie "Les" Hames, peacefully passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026 after a long illness. She was born in Kensington, CT on September 30, 1940 to the late George and Alma (Manthay) Knopf. She met and married Les in California and after a few years relocated to Enfield where they raised their family. Joyce worked in the cafeteria for the Enfield Public Schools System for many years. She also taught Sunday school at the Enfield Congregational Church. Joyce's favorite hobby was fishing.

In addition to her husband Les, Joyce is survived by her daughter Carron, her grandchildren, Stephanie, Jake, and Jesse; her brother, Allan Knopf, and her sister, Linda Helming. She was predeceased by her son, Les "JR" Hames, her daughter Julie Boyle, and her sister, June Hoffman.

Relatives and friends may join the family for calling hours from 10 am to 12 pm on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd, Enfield.
