Joyce D. Heiserman, 80, of Wrightsville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 after a brief struggle with liver cancer. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late James G. and Dorothy L. (Miller) Hall. She was the loving wife of 58 years to Robert W. Heiserman, Jr.
Joyce was president and life member of the Marietta Restoration Association, and member of the Historic Wrightsville, Inc. She owned and operated the River Inn Bed & Breakfast in Marietta for 12 years. She loved her family and the annual family reunions, Heiserman Weekend, which she started at the River Inn B&B. These reunions have continued for over 30 years. Joyce loved holidays, especially Christmas and Hallmark’s Christmas in July. She was passionate about her garden, and known around her town for having a beautiful garden. Her Millersville college roommates were affectionately known as the MU Gals, and they maintained a lifetime friendship.
In addition to her husband, Joyce is survived by her son Kurt R. Heiserman and wife Tamara Dobbie; and two sisters, Carol M. Shadle and Gwynette “Wendy” Nace. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Stacy K. Heiserman, in addition to her parents.
Donations in her honor can be made to The American Cancer Society, Marietta Restoration Associates, or Historic Wrightsville, Inc.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
