Orrville -- Joyce E. Kaufmann, age 90, of Orrville, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, at LifeCare Hospice in Wooster.
Born on April 15, 1935, in Orrville, she was the daughter of the late Otis W. and Helen Kaufmann. Joyce graduated from Orrville High School and went on to earn her degree from Taylor University. She began her career in education teaching third grade in the Orrville City School District before spending 33 years with the Parma City School District, where she retired after a long and meaningful career dedicated to her students.
Joyce was a devoted member of the Orrville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and Alpha Delta Kappa. She had a lifelong love of reading and was especially fond of crossword puzzles. A loyal Cleveland Guardians fan, she rarely missed a game. Her niece and nephews fondly remember the countless hours spent playing games with her-memories they cherish deeply.
Left to honor her memory is her brother, Glenn (Gloria) Kaufmann of Orrville; nieces, Mindy (Brian) vonGunten of Mason, MI, Christina (Timothy) Boda of Vancouver, WA, Kerrie Kaufmann of Orrville, and Jill (Keith) Miller of Orrville; nephew, Scott (Becky) Mason of Gaylord, MI; and brother-in-law, Roger Mason of Warrenville, IL.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marjorie Mason.
A private family graveside service will take place.
Memorials may be made to Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 300 S. Walnut St. Orrville, OH 44667 (include "For Scholarship Fund" in memo).
