Joyce Kilgore Obituary
Joyce Elizabeth Kilgore, age 87 of Peñasco, NM died November 6, 2025. She was born February 23, 1938 in New Philadelphia, Ohio, daughter of David Hamilton and Nell Cotham Hamilton.
Ms. Kilgore was a graduate of Ohio State University and The Franciscan University of Steubenville. She taught in the Columbus Public Schools for 7 years after graduation from OSU and in St. Anthony School in Peñasco for 3 years prior to becoming Director of Religious Education for San Antonio Parish. She was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Society within the parish and an animal welfare activist in the area.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Anne Kilgore of Aura, CO, Kathleen Kilgore, and grandson, Gabriel Neff.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions please be made in Joyce's name to: St. Elizabeth's Homeless Shelter, 804 Alarid St. Santa Fe, 87501: 4 Corners Animal League, PO Box 1163, Taos, 87571: or Dixon Animal Protection Services, PO Box 96, Dixon, 87527.
