Joyce Fay Olivieri passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on May 3, 1942, in Charleroi, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Robert and Edith Cannon and lived in Donora the majority of her life.
Joyce earned her Associate’s Degree in Accounting from Duff’s Business School and built a long, dedicated career in medical billing and coding. Outside of work, she found joy in reading, crossword puzzles, movies, and Scrabble.
A fiery redhead with a flawless complexion and an even fiercer love for her family, Joyce was known for defending those she loved without hesitation. She was accepting, kind, full of life, and created a sense of comfort everywhere she went.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Olivieri; and her siblings, Judy Ginglardi, Richard Cannon, and Robert Cannon. Joyce is survived by her sister, Shirley Engel; brother-in-law, Al Ginglardi; and her children: Dean Olivieri (Pam), Roxanne Neis (Larry), Derek Olivieri (Julie), and Nicole Olivieri. She leaves behind grandchildren who adored her deeply: Berkeley Morris (Pat), Taylor Fitzpatrick (Rory), Jordyn Olivieri (Eddie), Demi Schaefer (James), Crayton Olivieri, Sierra Ferretti (Nico), Donovan Olivieri, and Sydney Farley (Justin).
No formal service will be held. A celebration of Joyce’s life will take place in Donora after the new year, where family and friends will gather to remember her warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the hospice team and caregivers—especially her daughter, Roxanne—for the years of devoted and loving care she provided. https://www.lbda.org/donate/
