Joyce Lee Orr

Joyce Lee Orr April 3, 1928 - March 29, 2025 Joyce Lee Orr was born April 3, 1928, in Lancaster, California to John Ward and Dorothy Lindamood. She went home to be with the Lord on March 29, 2025, at the age of 96. She passed away peacefully in Henderson Nevada. Joyce will be lovingly remembered by family and friends. Joyce went to school in the Antelope Valley and graduated from Antelope Valley High School in Lancaster CA. While Joyce worked as a secretary at Edwards Air ForceBase she met John (Sam) Samuel Orr Sr. They were later married on November 29, 1952.Together they had two children, Roanna Popichak and John (Jack) Orr who blessed their lives. Joyce and Sam resided in Lancaster CA. until 1974 when they moved to Tehachapi.Joyce loved her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, cooking, sewing, reading and knitting. She was involved with the Republican Womens Club for many years. She also volunteered with Optimal Hospice Care. She and Sam were members of Mountain Bible Church of Tehachapi where she loved worshiping the Lord. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Roanna Popihchak, and her husband, Steve; son Jack Orr, and his wife, Dawn; her four granddaughters, Renee, Jennifer, Sheri, and Angela; her eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband Sam Orr on January 9, 2010, her brother Jack Lindamood; her sister Mary Montilepre; and brother Roger Lindamood. Joyce will forever be in our hearts and be remembered as a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in her name to Bristol Hospice (formerly Optimal Hospice), at 5251 Office Park Dr. Ste. 100, Bakersfield, Ca. 93309. A private service will be held at the Tehachapi Eastside Cemetery. Wood Family Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
