Joyce Ann Pearo, 90, of Sterling Heights, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
Joyce was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 1, 1934, the youngest of seven children.
She was independent, classy, and always well kept. She enjoyed being social and was active in the Senior Singles in Sterling Heights, Michigan was she helped plan the monthly luncheon events. Joyce had many friends and always found time for them when it fit in her calendar. She was very organized, always sent cards to people, and enjoyed a Manhattan w/vermouth on the side along with a water with no ice.
In her working years, Joyce spent time as an executive secretary at General Motors in the Cadillac building, before moving to Cincinnati, Ohio for a short while. She later moved back to Michigan and worked at the Kingsley Inn and later at Macy's where she truly enjoyed being the 'hostess with the mostess".
In her free time, she loved going to dinner with friends, playing doubles tennis, and socializing with all her friends. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings but leaves behind many friends along with extended family.
Devoted wife of the late Harrison Pearo. Beloved daughter of the late Mary Martha Craffey. Dear sister of the late Thomas Craffey (the late Marge), the late Marie Bracken (the late Darwin), the late Michael Craffey (the late Doris), the late Patricia Coughlin, the late Gloria Wise (the late William), and the late William Craffey (the late Arlene). Loving aunt of numerous nieces, nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. Also survived by many loving friends.
Family will receive friends on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 2:00pm-7:00pm at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home 32515 Woodward Ave (South of 14 Mile )
Royal Oak, MI 48073. A Rosary and sharing of memories service will be at 6:00pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 10:00am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton 280 E. Square Lake Rd.
Troy, MI 48085. Visitation begins at the church at 9:30am.
