Melvin Pearo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Betz, Rossi Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Home - Amsterdam on Jul. 12, 2024.
Melvin J. "Buck" Pearo, 90, of Sulphur Springs Road, Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 11, 2024. He was born on November 9, 1933 in Amsterdam, to the late Louis and Mildred (Phillips) Pearo, and was a life-long area resident.
Buck was the owner and operator of Millie Lou Ridge Farm, which he ran for many years alongside his family until his retirement. After retiring, Buck enjoyed taking care of his chickens, traveling, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On August 26, 1956, Buck was united in marriage to the former Evelyn Milonovich. The couple shared 51 wonderful years together, until her passing on December 30, 2007. Evelyn took a large piece of Buck's heart when she left this world, and there is comfort in knowing that they are reunited again.
Buck leaves behind his loving family, including his daughters, Melanie (Jayme) King of Amsterdam, Kimberly Montenaro of Amsterdam, Diane (Boddy) White of Glen and son-in-law, Anthony Montenaro; his grandchildren, Amanda (Joe) Mittler of Amsterdam, Katie (Carson) Pryde of Cochrane, Alberta, Canada, Jake and Ginger White of Glen; his great-grandchildren, Rylee and Reegan Mittler, and Mylah and Ella Pryde; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Aside from his parents and wife, Buck was preceded in passing by his sister, Erma (Richard) Schultz, his brother Durwood (Betty) Pearo, and twin sister, Marilyn (Skip) Austin.
In keeping with Buck's wishes, funeral services will be held privately. He will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery, next to Evelyn. Memorial contributions may be made in Buck's memory to Fairview Cemetery, c/o Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, NY or to the Montgomery County SPCA, 1232 NY State HWY 5s, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Betz, Rossi, Bellinger & Stewart Family Funeral Homes, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, NY.
