Our beloved mother, Joyce (Joy) Eleanor Pyle, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus with her son Robert and daughter Lisa by her side, on July 25th, 2025. Joy was born on April 13th, 1935 in Cook County, Illinois. At a young age, her parents Mina and Dana McGovern divorced, and Joy and her mother moved to Southern California. Mina met Dick Turner, and together they raised our mother. At the age of 65, our mother found out through family members that she had been adopted when she was several months old, thus starting a journey to find out more about her birth parents. To date, that information has not been located, but we believe in our hearts all of her questions have now been answered and she has been reunited with her birth parents.
Our mother was a hard worker and successfully held a variety of administrative jobs over the years in addition to being an amazing mother and wife. Our mom married our father, Harold Leslie Pyle, on August 14th, 1954. Our parents were married for 64 years before our father passed away in 2018. We consider ourselves blessed to have had such loving parents who provided security, unconditional love and set an example of a strong and dedicated marriage.
After our father passed away, our mom adopted a little rescue dog and named him Cooper. Cooper was her constant companion and brought her so much joy and comfort. In 2023, our mother became too ill to stay in her home any longer, and moved to a board and care facility in Murrieta where she remained until her passing. We would like to give thanks and endless appreciation to her primary caregivers and all the wonderful staff who made her feel like family and provided her care and comfort.
Joy is survived by her son Robert Pyle (deceased wife Milinda), daughter Lisa Nickle (husband David), and grandchildren Katie and Brandon Nickle. Cooper has a new home with Lisa and David in Yuma, Arizona.
Our mom was blessed with countless friendships in life. We thank each and every one of you that brought so much joy to our mom's life and helped in caring for her these last few years. Our mom is finally Home, and we rejoice in knowing she is with Jesus and our beloved father.
