Joyce Bush Riddle, 89, of Pace, Florida, died in Pensacola, Florida on September 11, 2025.

Mrs. Riddle was born in Poplar Springs on March 2, 1936, to the late John Daniel Bush and Oleta Martin. Joyce attended Pensacola State College, before attending the University of West Florida where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Administration. She also attended Troy State University where she earned a Master of Science in Counseling and Human Development. Joyce dedicated her professional career to the legal field; she was a legal secretary in Panama City, serving as Chief Judge Winston E. Arnow's assistant. Joyce was a counselor at Pensacola State College; and retired from the Department of Children and Families as a paralegal. In retirement she admired the vivid colors of nature, the greens of oak and pine against the blue sky, and enjoyed completing the daily crossword, word jumbles, and painting and coloring flowers.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. John R. Riddle; sister, Sandra B. Pleas; and stepson, David Riddle.

She is survived by her son, Richard A. Riddle and daughter-in-law, Dottie Ritchie-Riddle; her two grandchildren, Adam Riddle and Kaitlin Riddle; stepdaughter, Patricia Riddle; and brother, Billy Bush.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Lewis Funeral Home Pace Chapel, 4777 West Spencer Field Road, Pace, Florida 32570, with visitation from 10:30-11:45 a.m. and service at 11:45 a.m. Interment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery.
