Joyce Ann Ruszkowski, of Cinnaminson, NJ, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, just days before her 81st birthday. Born June 30, 1944, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Anna Kania.
Joyce was the beloved wife of the late Frank Ruszkowski, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage filled with love, laughter, and Sunday night movie dates. Devoted mother to Denise Eckerle and Debra Ruszkowski, she was a proud and adoring grandmother to Anne Marie Pignataro (Dave), Carolyn Eckerle (Evan), and Katherine Eckerle. She will also be lovingly remembered by her in-laws, Leonard and Susan Ruszkowski.
She was predeceased by her dear siblings, Edward and Kathryn.
Joyce worked for many years at Strawbridge & Clothier in downtown Philadelphia. A woman of deep faith, she was initially a parishioner and librarian at St. Martha's Church in Philadelphia, and later became a devoted member of St. Charles Borromeo Parish after moving to Cinnaminson.
Strong-willed, opinionated, and the "strict parent," Joyce had a heart full of kindness and concern for others. Even while facing her own health challenges, she remained steadfast in her faith and always put others first. She loved dancing in her younger years, singing her favorite song "You Are My Sunshine," and reading Danielle Steel novels. Some of her happiest moments were spent in Ocean City, NJ, sunbathing in her backyard, watching Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons, and enjoying a good meal at Red Lobster.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 26th, from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at Givnish of Cinnaminson, 1200 Route 130 North. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Cinnaminson. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.
