Joyce Dean Scott, age 87, of Portland, entered into rest on December 24, 2025.
She was born on March 1, 1938, in Nashville, Tennessee. Joyce was one of the oldest of eleven children. She centered her whole life caring for the ones she loved. Before Joyce had a family of her own, she helped raise her siblings. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Joyce had a nurturing nature, and was always very giving, compassionate, and a trusted confidant. Affectionately known as Mama Joyce, she was very involved in her grandchildren’s upbringing also.
Joyce was a source of comfort for her family and a pillar of support. Joyce was a Christian woman of the Catholic faith.
Although Joyce will be dearly and deeply missed, her family is comforted that she is reunited with her beloved husband in Heaven.
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
