Joyce Kay Shacklette, 84, of Brandenburg, Kentucky, lovingly entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 28, 2025.
A woman of remarkable warmth and kindness, Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her passion for life was reflected in her nurturing spirit, as she took joy in feeding and caring for the deer and hummingbirds that graced her backyard. Nature's beauty brought her immense happiness, and it was in the great outdoors that she truly thrived.
Joyce’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy—each little moment spent with them cherished deeply. Her love knew no bounds, and she will be profoundly missed by all who had the honor of knowing and loving her.
Born on June 22, 1941, in Louisville, Kentucky, Joyce was the cherished daughter of Leven and Ada (McGill) Warner. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Shacklette, and her parents, Ada and Leven Warner.
Joyce’s legacy of love continues through her devoted sons, David (Connie) Shacklette and Jeff Shacklette, her daughter, Kimberly Cook-Holman, nine beloved grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Additionally, her dear friend Shirley Hall, along with many extended family members and friends, will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel. Joyce will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, Kentucky.
