Joyce Glidden Smith

Joyce Glidden Smith passed away at home on Saturday January 10th, 2026. She was a longtime resident of St. Albans.

Born in Sheldon on July 3rd, 1933, to the late Caswell "Ted" and Hilda (Johnson) Glidden. She was predeceased by her spouse, Hubert L. Smith, her daughter, Cynthia Cook, her infant grandson, Adam Kyle Elwood, her parents, brother, Osburn Glidden, sister, Phyllis Plattner and sons-in-law, John Cook and Tim Moss.

Joyce was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist church, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and former member of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her children, Sharon Kalahan (Kevin), Randall Smith (Karen), Julie Norris (Alan), Betsy Moss as well as grandchildren, Casey Bessette, Adam C. Cook, Eric Smith, Travis Smith, Rebecca Morin, Andrew Norris, Cody Norris, Kyle Norris, Ethan Moss, Morgan Moss, Colton Reed and Landon Reed and their spouses. Joyce is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, and their spouses, 2 great great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private and at the family's discretion.
