Joyce M. Sourdif

SPENCER: Joyce M. (Gagnon) Sourdif, 83, passed away on Thursday, January 15th., surrounded by her family. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Leo R. Sourdif of Spencer; her daughter Patricia A. Sourdif of Spencer along with many nieces, nephews, and friends especially her close friends of many years, Gladys Head and Catherine Cordy. Joyce is predeceased by her twin sister June Pelletier and her sister Theresa Ruggieri.

Joyce was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of the late Peter A. and Mary L. (Bruso) Gagnon. After marrying Leo, she settled in Spencer to raise her family. Joyce worked many years in the Data Center of the TJ Maxx Distribution Center in Worcester. Joyce enjoyed hosting and attending family cookouts, crafting, dancing, reading and spending time with her family and friends.The family would like to extend sincere thanks to all the numerous doctors, nurses and respiratory therapists at the UMASS Memorial Hospital 2CC Unit for all the care they provided for Joyce. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, Jan. 23rd. at 10:00 am in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church Street, Spencer, followed by burial in Mary Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. There are no calling hours. Family & friends are asked to go directly to the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joyce's memory may be made to: Spencer Rescue Squad, 6 Bixby Road, Spencer, MA 01562. J.
